Why Sublimation Is the Only Method for True All-Over Print
Most printing methods deposit ink on top of fabric β which means a print area, raised texture, and eventual cracking. Dye sublimation is different: under heat and pressure, ink converts to gas and bonds permanently inside the polyester fibers.
The result is edge-to-edge color coverage with no print borders, no raised texture, and no layer to peel or crack. The fabric breathes and stretches naturally because nothing sits on its surface.
In wash cycle testing, sublimated garments retain full color vibrancy beyond 80 wash cycles β significantly longer than DTG (40β60) or screen printing (30β50). For sportswear, activewear, and jersey merchandise that buyers wash frequently, this durability is essential.
One constraint: sublimation requires 100% polyester or high-polyester blends. It does not work on cotton. For cotton-based AOP, see our DTG service β

Built for High-Volume Sublimation
Our sublimation production room runs Epson F-series large-format printers and industrial heat presses β dedicated to AOP, not shared with other print methods.

From Your Design File to Finished Garment
AOP sublimation involves more steps than standard printing β here’s exactly what happens between file submission and shipment.
Submit Design File
Send your AOP artwork as PNG or PDF with bleed areas for edge-to-edge coverage. Include personalization data (name, number) if applicable. We confirm specs before production starts.
Artwork Preflight
Our team checks resolution (min 150 DPI), color mode (CMYK), and bleed coverage. Issues are flagged and resolved before printing β no reprints after the fact.
Sublimation Print
Artwork is printed onto large-format transfer paper using Epson F-series printers. The paper is then heat-pressed onto polyester fabric at 190Β°C β ink vaporizes and permanently bonds with fiber.
Cut, Sew & Personalize
Printed fabric panels are cut to pattern using our industrial cutting system, then assembled by our sewing team. Name and number personalization is applied at this stage for jersey orders.
QC + Pack & Ship
Color accuracy, stitching, and sizing checked before packing. Shipped with your branding inserts if set up. US delivery in 5β8 business days, DDP β no surprise customs fees.

All-Over Print FAQ
Does sublimation AOP work on dark-colored fabric?
No. Dye sublimation requires light or white polyester fabric. The dye works by bonding with the fiber’s base color β dark fabric blocks the ink from showing correctly. For dark garments, we recommend DTF printing. Onospod offers both methods β see our Custom Apparel page β
What file format and resolution do I need for AOP artwork?
Submit artwork as PNG or PDF, minimum 150 DPI at final print size, CMYK color mode. Include a bleed area (typically 0.5β1 inch) for edge-to-edge coverage. Our artwork team reviews every file before production starts and flags any issues β no charge for the review.
Can you print white using sublimation?
White cannot be printed with sublimation β it must come from the fabric itself. Areas you want white should be left as the base fabric color in your design file. If your design requires printed white on a colored background, DTF is the correct method for that element.
What fabrics are compatible with AOP sublimation?
100% polyester or high-polyester blends (90%+ polyester). Common options include polyester interlock for jerseys, polyester-spandex for leggings and activewear, and woven polyester for Hawaiian shirts and tote bags. Sublimation does not work on 100% cotton.
Can you add player names and numbers to each jersey individually?
Yes. We support per-piece personalization β each jersey in an order can have a different name and number. For team orders, submit a roster list with the design file. For POD, personalization details are included with each order. Heat-transfer name/number is also available as an add-on after sublimation.
What is the minimum order for AOP products?
Minimum is 1 piece β no MOQ for print-on-demand. For team orders (20β200 pieces), volume pricing applies. Sample orders (1β3 pieces) are recommended before launching a product to evaluate color accuracy and fit.
How long does AOP sublimation production take?
Standard AOP production is 1β2 business days. This covers sublimation printing, cutting, sewing, and QC inspection. Personalized jersey orders (name + number) take 2β3 business days. Shipping from Vietnam to the US is 5β8 business days with tracking included.
